Policemen to undergo drug abuse test- Arase

Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has said that all Policemen will henceforth undergo snap urine tests to detect any signs of drug abuse before they can be issued firearms. Arase said this at the launch of drug testing kits and campaign against sudden death of police officers in Abuja today April 6th.
“After an in-depth study, my team and I have found out that some of these fatal cases could be due to mishandling of firearms by police officers who are psychologically unfit to handle firearms at that time. We have therefore decided that the medical assessment of persons we recruit into the police Force will include a psychological assessment“he said.

FREE MEAT ON THE ROAD!

ONE man’s pain is another man’s pleasure.
The saying proved to be true on Monday when a man lost six cows when they were hit by a bus.

The residents in the area saw the chance to get free meat, according to a cop who was at the scene at Hluhluwe’s main road, northern KZN.
He said the residents and motorists helped themselves to free meat as the owner of the cows did not show up.
People also took to social media to invite others to come and get some free meat.
The people said beef is very expensive these days so finding so much scattered on the road was a real bonus.
The Facebook account of Ukhozi FM’s traffic presenter Ayanda Msweli got busy after a resident announced that an accident involving a bus and cows was causing heavy traffic on the road.
Driver Sfiso Dlamini said: “These cows get in the road even when there are vehicles coming. Motorists find themselves in a situation where they can cause an accident.”
Major Thulani Zwane confirmed the incident where cows were knocked by a bus.
“A case of reckless and negligent driving was opened for investigation and no arrest has been made,” said Zwane.

Porsche motors cleared of any responsibility for the crash that killed Paul Walker

A judge has cleared Porsche of any responsibility for the car crash that killed actor Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas. Walker and his friend Roger Rodas died in 2013 when the Porsche Carrera GT they were both in, driven by Rodas crashed into a tree.

Rodas’ widow Kristine went on to sue Porsche alleging that the Carrera GT had various ‘defects’ which resulted in her husband losing control of the car.

Porsche strongly denied all allegations and have now been cleared of any responsibility in the star actor and Roger Rodas' death.

According to TMZ, Kristine's argument that the car was ill equipped to handle side impact was moot, since the fatal force came from the front when it hit the lamppost - as her own expert confirmed.
US District Judge Philip S. Gutierrez also rejected the front impact argument because 'Rodas' fatal injuries occurred when he actually was hurled into Paul Walker.'

He also rejected the fuel cell argument, finding that it was not the cause of the fire, and held that Rodas' lawyers had not presented evidence demonstrating the crash was caused by a defective suspension.

Her attorney, Mark Geragos has confirmed that the ruling will be appealed.

Gucci ad banned for featuring an "unhealthy thin" model

A Gucci ad has been banned for featuring an "unhealthily thin" model. The Advertising Standards Authority told the Italian fashion brand to make sure it used responsible images of models in its future ad campaign. Gucci ran an online video ad featuring a number of models dancing to a soundtrack. The final part of the ad, which ran on the Times website in December, featured still photos of the individual models.

The fashion company said the ad was aimed at an “older, sophisticated” audience and that the Times website was used as it provided an “adult and mature” readership. The Advertising Standards Authority received a complaint that the ad was irresponsible because the models were unhealthily thin.

Guccio Gucci, the parent company of the fashion brand, and the Times said that that the idea of an unhealthily thin model was to some extent a “subjective issue” The fashion company said that the models had “slim builds” but were not depicted as “unhealthily thin”.

The images were shot to make sure none of the models’ bones were visible, which would accentuate thinness, and light rather than heavy makeup was used to stop the potential accentuation of thinness in features.

The ASA disagreed, saying that the ad irresponsibly showed a model with a body that was disproportionate and overly thin.
"Further, her pose elongated her torso and accentuated her waist so that it appeared to be very small," added the ASA.  "We also considered that her sombre facial expression and dark makeup, particularly around her eyes, made her face look gaunt. For those reasons, we considered that the model leaning against the wall appeared to be unhealthily thin in the image, and therefore concluded that the ad was irresponsible."
The ASA told the Italian fashion company to make sure it used responsible images of models in its future ad campaigns.

"We believe Mboro is just looking for ways to extort money from people. We know he never went to heaven. He is deceiving people, We’re going to summon him to explain to us whether he said those things or if it’s a joke." he concluded
